Louise Louys Wickham studied art at Washington University Fine Art School in St. Louis, Missouri. Her training in basic principles of art, learned primarily from the Masters, give her work an entrance into and around her paintings. She has progressed from representational to contemporary impressionism. Her brush stroke has been likened to Van Gogh's very loose style. She paints with the brush and palette knife and uses vivid colors.
Since 2012, she has been President of the Lee Artist Association, a local art club, and has won numerous ribbons in judged shows. Louise has taught art for 25 years, most recently at Windemere Art Gallery, for both private and group lessons. She has shown her work in three galleries in Richmond and the Design Center in Washington D.C., and is scheduled for an art exhibit at Richmond’s For Arts Sake in August 2015.
