I, __________________________, agree that both Crossroads Art Center, their agents, Maymont and all those involved in the organization and running of this event shall not be liable for any damages, loss, injury incurred by myself or guests during my participation in the Paint Maymont outdoor painting event.

In the agreement, the party who is granting the right to sell its merchandise will be referred to as “the artist”, and the other party who is receiving the right to sell the merchandise will be referred to as “the gallery”.  The parties agree as follows:

I.                     RIGHT TO SELL.  The artist owns the original works of art (“artwork”).  In accordance with this Agreement, the artist grants the gallery a non-exclusive right to sell the artwork under terms of this Agreement.  The artist agrees to deliver to the gallery, on consignment, the artwork.  The gallery agrees to devote its best efforts to the sale of the artwork.  All sales prices and terms of the sale shall be determined by mutual consent of the parties. The gallery is not responsible for items that are lost, stolen or damaged while on display at the art center. 

II.                    PROCEEDS OF SALES.   Crossroads Art Center will pay to the artist a portion of the sales proceeds that shall be calculated as follows: 60 percent of the proceeds from the sale.  The amount determined in the previous sentence shall be paid to the artist once a month.  Any items left over 3 months will be put on sale and the fee paid to the Crossroads Art Center will be 75%.

INVENTORY OF SUBMISSION.  The gallery will accept only original work by the artist, handcrafted work and photography.  We reserve the right to refuse work based upon the jurors selection process and limit number to two items to be submitted for the starting inventory.  Work that has been in the gallery show previously at the art center cannot be entered ever again. Gallery staff will indicate work sold or returned to artist.
