Artist, Carol Anna Meese has a goal of creating and showing her art in a multitude of countries. She already has some impressive stamps on her passport demonstrating the seriousness of this intention. Meese has studied and or shown in Mexico, Italy, the West Indies and Nepal. She has also traveled to Iceland for inspiration. Of Iceland she says, “The power of the earth and lack of man-made influences has led me to a more spiritual place.”
Work she has currently displayed in her gallery space at CAC is collage inspired by trips to Africa, India and Mexico. Though it dates from several years ago and Meese’s work has metamorphosized since, it is quite relevant to her evolution as an artist.

To keep her art muscles in good shape, Meese creates and posts a spontaneous painting every day, a practice she began about six years ago. “‘Dailies’ is a practice I started to experiment, improvise, take chances, all done on paper without the commitment of a large painting,” she says. “I like to call them Haiku in paint.”
