The Secret Life of Leaves…

Does every leaf have a story?

My story is grounded in a Northern Minnesota life, growing up
With my sister just 2 cornfields away from the family farm.

I’ve learned that coincidences are not just that, and the importance of
The ever present beat of a nature filled childhood;
The smell of pumpkins on the porch,
Fall leaves and cornstalks drying in the sun,
Grandma’s stitching, needle, thread and cloth,
……are all part of a rhythm

Botanical (Eco) printing is an organic process of
Hunting and gathering leaves and “pre-loved” cloth;
Scouring, soaking, simmering and “slow stitch”

Sewing thread to cloth is a meditative way
I connect to the rhythmic flow of seasons in life and nature;
Always moving forward, yet aware of the promise
Of seeing it again.

“Eco” printing is my way of honoring a life worth living…….
