meander around the interiors of a jazz club and focus on the musicians, dancers, patrons and bartenders, capturing them in all manner of unexpected social interactions.  I also combine a quirky mixture of unrelated images to enrich and confuse these figurative paintings.   I apply acrylic paint in layers using unorthodox tools such as cauliflower, the wrong side of a brush, fingernails, used rags and discarded worn out brushes, combined with occasional traditional applications. I attempt to create a painterly, rich and puzzling surface using many abstract elements\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003e   I attended Virginia Commonwealth University in Painting and Printmaking and graduated in 1976 and have been a full-time artist for over 35 years.
