We lived in Iceland for two years and one of our favorite places to explore or take visitors was to the geothermal area that was East of the capital city of Reykjavik and which included the Gulfoss waterfall, Thingvellir nature park, and a number of geysers.   The hot water from the geysers would often mix with the cold air and create very ethereal clouds of mist drifting around the base of the nearby mountains...a sight I will never forget!
