Thank you to JC Gilmore-Bryan and John Bryan for being the jurors of our January 2021 All-Media Show!
Jurors Statement
We were delighted to see such a diverse smorgasboard of entries for Crossroads’ January 2021 Juried All-Media Show – and great variety of both method and medium in each of the three overall categories: 2D, 3D, and photography. There were many standout artworks, and we suspect that the ones that we selected as first-place winners – Tom Hennessy’s photograph “Roanoke Marshes Lighthouse Sunburst,” David Bushman’s 3D “Lidded Maple Burl Vessel No. 387,” and Bard Levy’s 2D “Backyard Creek” – as well as the second- and third-place winners, will be among the favorites of the show’s viewers. Each of those artworks – as well as several others that are not among the winners – presents a unique voice, a confident technique, and a special something that you feel rather than describe. – JC Gilmore-Bryan and John Bryan
JC Gilmore-Bryan is recognized internationally for her explorations and experimentations with non-traditional screenprint techniques and materials – especially regarding her artworks of Notre-Dame Cathedral that she created onsite during residencies in Paris in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020.
