{"title":"Jos Biviano","description":"\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cu\u003eCharles Jos Biviano,\u003c\/u\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e ISAP, is a signature member of the International Society of Acrylic Painters and a nationally recognized visual artist living in Richmond, Virginia.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eJos's artistic training began with a three-year apprenticeship in the studio of the late, great William F. Byers, a noted landscape painter and iconographer. Later, he received his Bachelor of Arts from the Virginia Military Institute in 1979, and subsequently entered the United States Air Force as a commissioned officer where he traveled and experienced the world. After military service, Jos received his Master of Architecture degree from the University of Texas at Austin.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eJos has a diverse painting style. His paintings glorify Nature and evoke the transcendental images celebrated by the nineteenth-century Hudson River and Luminist Schools of Art. Jos's landscape paintings are marked by forceful and dramatic displays of light \u0026amp; shadow, intense color, and Turner-like atmospheric effects. His compositions push the viewer for an emotional response. With few instances, his work often depicts the land with few elements of human intervention. Jos enjoys painting landscapes bathed in late afternoon light when color harmonies are most pronounced. Although he works predominantly in oil, Jos also enjoys painting with acrylic and other water-based media.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eJos exhibits both nationally and abroad. In 2022, he was selected to participate in a \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eContemporary Inkworks \u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003eexhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Beijing. Prior to this, Jos was \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003eArtist In Residence \u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003eat Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary, Ramah-Navajo Indian Reservation, NM. The work he created from this amazing trip brought national attention to both the artist and the preservation of the North American Gray Wolf and subspecies Mexican Wolf. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eJos has established himself as an Antarctic illustrator. His recent work: \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eAntarctic Vignettes\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e as described in Captain Robert Falcon Scott's ill-fated \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003eAntarctica Journals – Terra Nova Expedition, 1910-1913\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e, was well received by both national and international Antarctic organizations.\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003e \u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e Jos was \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eArtist In Residence \u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003eat Antarctica - One World Corporation, December 2022 to March 2023.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eJos's works are in the permanent collections of private, public, and corporate holdings throughout the United States. His diverse commissioned work ranges from South Africa Petrol Corp to the rock group Jethro Tull. The butte at Choteau, MT is perhaps one of the best known. It’s elongated, angled form has been the subject of many paintings.
