Have you ever driven somewhere in the hot, dry summer and seen cattle congregating around a body of water or water trough? Driving across country, I have witnessed this numerous times and wanted to capture that feeling of respite from the heat.
Artist's Statement:
Normally a left brain person by day, I transform into a right brain person during the evenings and weekends when I translate past memories and experiences into color. I don’t strive for realism in my work as straight lines become non-linear and colors become amplified and exaggerated. For me, the vividness of bright hues, tints, and shades, using a variety of mediums, brings life to things that are all too often unobserved and taken for granted.
