Laura’s love of creating and expressing herself through the objects she made led her to study studio art at the University of Virginia. She earned a degree in graphic arts, which helped her prepare for the creation of her own business as an artist, creating paintings as well as murals and faux finishes in homes and businesses for area Atlanta designers. These projects naturally led her clients to seek out Laura for her interior design expertise.
In addition to interior design, Laura is still an avid painter. She is known for her whimsical use of pattern and color, which she uses to create hand painted textiles—often made into throw pillows and home décor as well as clothing. Although her early artistic training was focused on the representational, it has always been her natural instinct to depict nature in abstract forms. Her latest painting collections are mostly hard-edge color studies which show how colors interact with each other in different and often surprising ways.
