"This painting resulted from a 2004 chat with the actor Keanu Reeves at a Sunset Strip restaurant. Reeves was on the eve of his 40th birthday, and I decided to do the painting as a birthday gift.  In LA no good deed goes unpunished, however, and during the process of :facilitating" the gift, Mr. Reeves' agent kidnapped the portrait and saw to it that the actor never received it.  After almost three years, my lawyer and I were able to secure its safe return. Perhaps a 50th birthday gift, Keanu! You'll really like it then!"
