I am a lifelong Richmonder and I have been to the Byrd Theater many of times, beginning when I was a child.  I always loved its beauty and I was very fortunate to have been given the opportunity to photograph it.

Artist Statement

I I am a photographer as well as an adjunct faculty ay Virginia Commonwealth University and at local community colleges. Forty years ago, I began studying and practicing to create images using various cameras, lens and lights. For me, film was first, and later, I discovered digital technology, which greatly expanded my artistic possibilities. In addition, I print all of my own work and this gives me greater control over the outcome. Most often, my subject involves sports such as: polo, soccer, rugby, triathlons,  basketball, horse racing and even roller derby. However, I am drawn to architecture and wildlife, as well.
