These painted drumsticks show the love of blues music with their scars, dents and peels. The gold leaf shows a cymbal crash, and the stagger of the sticks read like sheet music.

Artist Statement:

Much of my art repurposes found objects that can be used in a completely different way than what their original intent was.  I create work that people may not recognize immediately what the parts are, but as they come closer and are drawn in, they have an “aha” moment and look even closer.  Then stepping back, they can see it in a different light than when they first experienced it.  I like the imperfections that come with found objects and depending on the piece, deliberately  incorporate these flaws into the finished piece.
