Artist's Statement:
I often think about how I can test the limits of graphic design being considered fine art. Graphic design can be more than just a poster we see on the streets. It can capture a reflection of a person's life by various icons, colors, typefaces, and even the piece's composition. I use graphic design to spread awareness of topics we as a society tend to shy away from. I use a propaganda style, such as using bright colors, black and white pictures, and simple illustrations, to catch people's attention and spread awareness of any issues a person might be going through. The head is an object that symbolizes the topic's issues as the focal point. I often use propaganda design to reflect my life, such as the chronic health problems I live with, and I use it to point out my political views.
