This was a beautiful, crisp Fall afternoon by the Piney River in the Virginia mountains, with the late afternoon sun shining through the trees and on the low and almost still water.
Artist Statement:
I use vibrant, saturated color and a wide value range to explore and express the forms and textures of my subjects, which include landscapes, figures, animals, and still lifes, in my primary mediums of soft pastels, graphite, acrylic, and colored pencil. My love of drawing started at an early age, and in later years, I have been able to happily spend more time in studying and creating art. I am a member of James River Art League and the MidAtlantic Pastel Society, and I exhibit at various venues in the region where many of my works have received award recognition. My art has been published in Northlight Books, Art Journey: Portraits, Figures and Ann Kullberg's Hidden Treasures, and my work can be found in private collections nationally.
