Visiting a magnificent mansion on Lake Michigan, that had been turned into a museum, as I entered, I was fortunate to capture this magical moment with my camera. My architectural skills help me bring this challenging painting to life.
Artist's Statement:
The first piece of art I remember doing was when I was nine years old; it was a pencil sketch of a Boston Terrier. It didn't occur to me that it was anything special, I thought everyone could do it.
When I was sixteen, I did a pencil portrait of my boyfriend, again, didn't think it was special. Life goes on.
As a young single Mother, I rediscovered my need to create. Pastels became my medium, I am self-taught. A few portrait commissions, but most pieces were traded for medical care.
An Interior Designer saw my work and commissioned a piece. I quickly realized I could not support my family with Art and chose Interior Design as my career and Art Form. A forty-year career, followed after earning my degree. Now that I have retired, I am rediscovering Art.
