I was studying the 18th century Tiepolo's painting The Building of The Trojan Horse and it reminded me of photos I had taken of children in Fiji. The children were climbing on an old stump. I decided to paint it in the Rococo style of Tiepolo; exaggerating many of the poses.
Artist Statement:
I am a Professional artist with a Fine Art Degree and minoring in Education. Working for decades, I have done it all, teaching, wall murals, portraiture, plein air, commercial renderings, neon and plastic signs, floral design, fabric arts and jewelry. My experience in most mediums is extensive with oil, pastel and collage as favorites. I've received accolades and Gallery representation with sales to Hospitals, commercial projects and collectors throughout the States. I continue to paint, teach, and tenaciously study past masters. Now having fun is a priority, I am motivated to create a new body of work. These paintings will be a continuance of ideas developed back in college but with a more educated approach.
