This painting portrays the beauty of innocence seen through the eyes of children. Days may be dim but our young always shine light on us.

Artist Statement:

I am a mother of three-year-old twins and I picked up a paintbrush for the first time in 2021. During that time, I was in the trenches of early motherhood and desperately longed for something to call my own. I spent nap times learning the basics of oil painting to develop a passion that gave me a sense of self back. But ironically, the growth of my new skill was driven solely by one thing: my desire to paint my children. Despite spending the last year exploring various styles, mediums, and subjects, my fervor to paint motherhood remains constant. Through my work, I strive to capture the perplexities of motherhood, the innocence of youth, and the beauty of the family narrative.
