Year of War. Unbreakable Country. Sunflowers for Ukraine
After over a year of war in Ukraine, this unbreakable country has been a source of inspiration for many artists. We are featuring our artists' bright and beautiful sunflower artworks both online and in-store, benefitting the Freedom Ukrainian Community.
A portion of the proceeds from each sunflower artwork sold will be donated to this charity helping the Ukrainian people. If you want to support our project, you may shop this collection or visit us in person and be surrounded by these wonderful artworks.
Sunflowers are especially loved in Ukraine, where golden fields of them face the sunrise in the east. They are Ukraine’s national flower, and in folk imagery represent the warmth and power of the sun, which was worshipped by pre-Christian Slavs.
We are Ukrainian Community of Virginia (UCV) - 1 | a Nonprofit Organization in Virginia, established by Ukrainians in 2022
Our Mission is to bring Ukrainians together, empower them to defend their land and freedom, build new homes, communities, and hope, save and share Ukrainian culture and traditions.
The general purposes for which UCV was established are as follows –
1 | Support and provide prompt, relevant and efficient resettlement assistance for Ukrainian Refugees and Ukrainians recently moved to Virginia.
2 | Unite and integrate local Ukrainian community.
3 | Preserve, promote and broaden of Ukrainian Language, Traditions and Culture
4 | Contribute to mental, body, financial and career well-being of Ukrainians in Virginia
5 | Build the trusted bridge between American individuals and business willing to help and Ukrainian militaries and civilians in need under the war condition in Ukrainian land
A year ago, on February 24, peaceful sleep, habitual life, big plans, and secret dreams of millions of Ukrainians were disturbed by bomb explosions. Since then, we PRAY and STAND STRONG for our land and freedom, everywhere we are - in Ukraine and all over the world.
We would like to SHARE, HONOR and RESPECT the story Ukraine passed through in these 365 days of war. In real INSPIRING stories of Ukrainian families all other the world since they left their homes. In stories full of SENSE and MOTIVE of those who stand strong defending our land. In pictures of daily life with HOPE and WISDOM of our grandparents and other civilians who were not brave enough to move to safer place or decided not to escape their daily bombed motherland.
It would be a CHARITY EXHIBITION dedicated to 1 year anniversary of war in Ukraine - in photos, exhibits, stories, videos, and crafts. For everyone could knew, feel and help to defend the freedom of 44 million of individuals lived their happy lives in the heart of Europe, in independent Ukraine, and affected by war.
It aims to maintain in a positive way the focus and attention of the local community to the Country and Humans in need. To encourage donations for Ukraine. And to EMPOWER Ukrainians to DEFEND their FREEDOM and RIGHTS for life in peace on their land.
