This set of 3 barrel staves are from a barrel used to dry herring fish from the Potomac Herring Company of Virginia. The barrel is at least 50 years old. The colorful patterns are painted using acrylic paints and finished with several coats of a matte water based varnish and can be hung vertically or horizontally.
