Artist's Statement: 

Nature is a teacher. As a landscape photographer, I love hanging out in beautiful natural areas such as National Parks, in golden light near to Sunrise and Sunset. The energy of nature restores and renews. Sometimes you can't tell where the sky begins and the horizon ends--it's all a continuous flow of eternal energy that restores our soul and renews our spirit. Light constantly changes, and photography requires knowledge of both the principles of art, and technical aspects: camera settings, exposure with aperture/f-stop, shutter speed and ISO. I carry the gear in a backpack into the field: camera, lenses, filters and a tripod. My photographs take the viewer along for nature's renewal in this unique moment of light.

Anne Barkley is a professional photographer and photography teacher with 20 years experience who lives in Virginia. She photographs landscapes in Virginia, California, the Southwest United States, the Tidal Basin in Washington DC, and in South Africa.
