This still life contains many of my favorite things. As I am a librarian, books are the focus of the piece. The Klimt book in the foreground is opened to a page of a woodcut print that I love. The flowers in the vase are love-in-a-mist and borage from my home garden. 

Artist Statement:

I am a painter who is inspired by the finding the beauty in things that I love. Flowers, textured surfaces, books, and foods often show up in my work. Capturing the right light is important to me. I want my art to encourage the viewer to slow down and appreciate the beauty of the world.
