This painting was created during a time of loss and grief, yet it intuitively illustrates the light that can be experienced in such moments.
Artist Statement:
Our days become shorter, with less light this time of year - yet, powerful light surrounds us when we tune in to it. These abstract acrylic works were intuitively painted during a time of deep loss and grief, but they are full of light and color - the lights and colors of those I lost.
All my intuitive paintings depict the energies of the natural universe that surrounds us, and the essence of my own internal energies. I frequently work in mixed media including silk fabrics that I hand-dyed 25 years ago, papers that I hand-painted or printed, and other textural media. These works use my hand-dyed silk fabrics with acrylic paints and graphite.
