Monet's Garden

Handmade Viscous Paper Felted onto a Silk and Wool Base

This piece incorporates two mediums that I love. I made sheets of viscous fiber paper and felted the fiber on to a silk base covered with a thin layer of wool. The back became a vibrant garden! I left the front plain, allowing the wearer to show off a special piece of jewelry.

Artist Statement:

Wearing my clothing is to wrap yourself in a piece of art. Each of my pieces incorporates a unique fusion of textures, materials and colors. These elements come together as I create the fiber. While I may begin with an idea and color direction for a piece, the flow of the materials guides my process to the finished product. I want clients to feel a sense of joy wearing my work.
