Can you hear it? Deep in the shadows of the trees, water is flowing from stone to stone on its way to a lower resting place.
Artist's Statement:
Writers create using words. Artists create with color and style. I enjoy stretching my artistic view of the world using encaustic wax and/or alcohol inks. Both are very forgiving media - pieces can be visited over and over again and are never necessarily complete. Encaustic wax is not only visually interesting, it is also incredibly durable. I love how it can be touched - by children and adults without fingerprinting! The use of heat allows for many interesting textures, and it is completely impervious to water. Creating with encaustic wax is an old style of painting that has become new again!
