Echinacea is a hardy, native flower that blesses us with their blooms summer into fall. They are strong plants for pollinators and catch my eye each time I walk by a bundle of these joyful flowers.

Artist's Statement:

I use both watercolor and acrylic in my work. Working in different mediums allows me a full range of style, expression, and connection. My work straddles the line of realism with a dash of whimsy and heart. My work is inspired by familial stories as well as artists like Edgar Degas, Andrew Wyeth, Emily Carr. There is beauty in the quiet, reflective moments of life.

My paintings are about special places and faces that are ingrained in one’s memory, and how that can change over time. How the mundane becomes the monumental memory. It is about moving the viewer through an experience characterized by joy, nostalgia, and connection. My works’ goal is to connect us with nature, our past in both a small and grand scale, and the folks we love.
