The Blue Heron is one of my favorite birds to watch along the Swift Creek Reservoir. I am fascinated by their uniqueness. I wanted to show its details along with the elegance and grace they possess with little to no movement.

Artist Statement:

I graduated Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts with a BFA degree in Art & Communication Design. As a graphic artist I spent my early years in advertising and publishing eventually landing in consumer packaging and printing. I most recently stepped out of my graphics career to pursue my passion for painting and illustration. 

I like to paint in both acrylics and watercolors mediums. I utilize my printing and illustration skills to set the foundation in combining color and form to develop new possibilities in my work. I like to focus on light to color relationships and how they interact with objects to create something interesting.
