This sculptural porcelain vase celebrates redbud trees as beautiful and ecologically significant native plants. The playful, asymmetrical form is balanced with areas of contrasting hand-carved branch designs and leaf-shaped patterns.
Artist's Statement:
My ceramic sculptures reference water availability, human environmental impact, microscopic internal plant structures and native plants. My work highlights what is not visible or often overlooked in nature and explores our relationship with the environment. I use wheel-thrown porcelain forms, which I alter to create asymmetrical sculptures and softly curved wall-hung pieces.
