I Love Trees! Inspired by Vincent Van Gogh’s 1890 painting “Tree Trunks in the Grass” which I saw at the Kroller-Muller Museum, Otterlo, the Netherlands while visiting. The second largest Van Gogh collection in the world! I loved all the detailed stokes and composition.
“Paint what you Love”…My journey as a new oil painter began right before COVID reared its ugly head. A Scientific Hand Analysis by Elaine Callahan revealed I had every heart-line and many moon stars that pointed to my inner creativity. A moon star in Apollo is about the arts, creative expression, fame & fortune, but doesn’t mean I’m going to become a millionaire! The next month, I met an oil painter from Toronto who recommended “The Artist Way” by Julia Cameron and writing my Morning Pages. This is an effective tool for cultivating creativity, personal growth and change. Synchronicity…”Leap, and the net will appear” My first ever in person class was canceled for 6 months, I had all my supplies and I started playing with oil paint. Basically self taught except for 12 weeks with Robin Caspari, Zoom Classes with Kathie Odom, and many free YouTubes. Influenced by Vincent, Erin Hanson and the Group of Seven, etc. Traveling has exposed me to some of the best painters in the world. I’m enjoying my journey and my evolution as an oil painter. 2 commissions last year! Thanks to many for all your support!
