Even more, I try to capture the feeling associated with those views. My work is not merely documentation; it is about passage. It is about impressions. It is about the moment. It is about focus.

The focus may not be about 'finishing' an image. My best work has always been about this process. Whether outside or in the studio, once I’ve completed my thoughts and worked out my plan, I work until the painting is done, in a very direct manner, usually without layers. I paint with a palette knife and water-miscible oils, but occasionally use a brush with watercolour, gouache, and egg tempera ( I love gouache, pronounced "gwash").

I work en plein air, but also from memory, informed by my photographs, sketches and impressions.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0780/8101/files/Hollett-Bazouzi_Linda_LineUp_Venice_Oil_650_47afe201-a2f5-4dfc-ad80-199482c248fd.jpg?v=1786985966
