I found something I have loved since my early childhood - the sea and its related artifacts. And, through my art, I want to make it even more uniquely me. Lighthouse on the rock with a hurricane's damaged bridge.
I am originally from Warsaw, Poland. I have called Northern Virginia home for the last 40 years. Until my retirement in 2014, I employed my engineering and naval architecture training in building ships and other seafaring vessels in every corner of the world. My artistic influences range from the stunning fractals found in nature to the bold work of abstract art pioneer Vasily Kandinsky. I primarily use cardboard, plaster, and acrylics to create multi-layered wall sculptures and paintings. At times I branch out from my predominantly abstract, monochromatic work to create scenes and vignettes inspired by my own travels and by my grandchildren’s many interests. Large-scale installations of my assemblage work can be found in both residential and commercial settings.
