We live in a beautiful city and I went out to do a plein air painting, and there was this incredible skyline with these 2 kids walking with their dad.
Artist's Statement:
I am an architect, who grew up in Central NY, attended college in Detroit Michigan, and has resided in Richmond Virginia for the past 25 plus years. I like to explore the medium of watercolors, because it has the ability to create transparency or opaqueness, soft edges or sharp edges, blurred lines or hard lines. It is portable, takes very little time to set up, and if you have a little luck, the scene will basically paint itself. I enjoy painting scenes from the city I live in and along the James River, and the Virginia coast. Maybe that’s because I am a Pisces.
Apart from being a watercolorist, I’m an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys kayaking, biking, and hiking. During the pandemic, I was fortunate to discover Plein - Air painting which allows me to bring together both my love of nature and painting.
