Halloween Masks of Fall
Acrylic on Cradled Board
24 x 24 x 1.5"
Masks are an important element of Halloween. Halloween is a night of excitement and activity. The colors in this painting represent the beautiful fall season. The collage on the masks bring rich texture with a combined vibrancy. The repeated pattern ties this painting together.
I have been always active in the greater Richmond community. I had my own design studio, taught children at various public schools, held charity shows and exhibited in galleries all over the city including United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS), Weinstein Jewish Community Center (JCC), Richmond Public Library (Downtown), and Artspace. One of my greatest joys was my collaboration with UNOS in the development of a group show in 2018 which I named "Second Chances" an exhibition of artwork reflecting the lives of transplant recipients because everyone deserves a second chance to live. As active as I have been, I'm concentrating on polishing and refining a more introspective message. "I want to create empathy, so that anyone who views my expressionist landscapes and figures can feel what it's like to be part of the scene, the gathering, and communal spaces."
