This painting belongs to my Ophilia collection which depicts the beauty of a woman. It is created with brushes and has a soft and supple quality to it. This painting reminds me of a cool day in autumn where I am wearing a cozy sweater, drinking a cup of hot chocolate, and watching the leaves fall.
Artist's Statement:
I’m a self-taught Abstract Artist that earned a BFA in Dance & Choreograph from VCU in 1997. I was a Massage Therapist for 13 years and now I am a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer for an OBGYN practice in RVA. On 2/1/2021, I survived an almost fatal brain bleed and I've been in recovery ever since. Creating an abstraction is a way for me to escape my reality. When I get lost in the experimental process I forget about all the difficulties I’ll have to endure. I am known for bold colors, thick textures and complex details. I believe that abstract art should be named abstractly so it has an identity, even if it’s forged from my own imagination. My work is eccentric, much like me. I give you the opportunity to see my artwork like a mirror for looking inward. I’m hoping to generate a pivotal moment in your life. My goal is to help you find healing, self-awareness and positivity like I’ve had to. I want to be an influence so life experiences bring you truth and freedom.
