This is an image of the Pump House in Byrd Park. Taken in October 2022, the scene exemplifies fall’s color palette. It’s one of my photographs from a continuing series called “Waiting”. I am endlessly inspired by benches, chairs, swings, low stone walls, and the like, where one might seek a few reflective moments.

I am endlessly inspired by benches, chairs, swings, low stone walls, and the like, where one might seek a few reflective moments or perhaps be awaiting a rendezvous.

Here, this bench invites quiet contemplation of one of Richmond’s evocative historical buildings on a golden autumn day.
