Butterflies are tiny and fragile, but the first word I thought of when I saw this one was "majestic". No other living thing brings so much joy with so little effort.

Artist Statement

I spent most of my career as an entrepreneur founding and supporting new businesses and organizations in industries as diverse as genetic microbiology and used auto parts. I even published a magazine about new and emerging ventures, but I didn’t think of myself as creative until I re-discovered his interest in photography while working from home due to COVID-19. I stii consider myself a beginner, but my  photographs have been selected for exhibit by three central Virginia galleries and have won awards including third place in the 2022 Washington Post Travel Contest.  

.If you me Stan about a photograph I took, I a, more likely to talk about the experience I had in taking it than about the settings of the camera I used. I'm more likely to talk about the weather that day, or the person I met while taking it. Like a fisherman, I will also tell you about the “one that got away.”
