My long-term documentary project, Views From The Vair, is a continuous visual archive of the ever-changing Americana landscape, inviting viewers to reconsider the unique ways it evolves—capturing what has endured, found new footing, or is quickly disappearing.To create textured visual narratives, I utilize photographic media by blending medium-format, 35mm, and digital imagery. This process develops performatively through a cross-country journey in a fully restored 1960 Corvair, accompanied by my husband as navigator. Seeking out roadside attractions, oddities, and places of interest facilitates close examination of human existence. While embodying the selectiveness of early family photography I focus entirely on the “wow” moments rather than destinations; interjecting myself as a reminder of the present.Serving as a conceptual clock with its engine set to zero at inception, the Corvair links every photograph to its exact date, time, and mileage, solidifying each moment within the project's history. This rigorous archival method anchors a precise moment in time, much like cherished family albums. Ironically, this vintage vessel becomes a modern bridge, sparking conversations across social divisions revealing a shared humanity deeply rooted within the fabric of Americana.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0780/8101/files/Rose_Robert_BlueRidgeContinuity-WestJefferson_NC__350.jpg?v=1780413377
https://www.crossroadsartcenter.com/products/rose-robert-title-blue-ridge-continuity-west-jefferson-nc
