Lucy, The Sidewalk Entertainer

Lucy was really the main attraction of a sidewalk entertainment duo that captured the hearts of many in Key West.  What inspired me to paint Lucy were her painted toenails, pink flowers, and necklace; but most of all, the soulful look in her eyes as she gazed up at her human companion.  

Artist's Statement: 

My paintings primarily reflect regional splendors that I capture through the viewfinder of my camera. My paintings include picturesque Maritime and Rural scenes discovered on the East Coast (Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina...etc) as well as abroad, Beautiful Animals, Pets and other commissions. My goal is to always capture the true beauty that surrounds us. I especially enjoy painting Watermen and their old workboats as they work their trade.  When I paint pets, horses, and other animals, I focus on their eyes and expressions to capture their personality.  I am inspired by many Art Masters; however, I am primarily inspired by American Artist, Winslow Homer.
