Sometimes these types of weavings are the most fun to do, where you're just carefree and really appreciate the outcome. The vibrant colors chosen for this weaving represent Fall to me. I think this spectacular season is the special gift nature gives us before the gray of winter sets in.

Artist's Statement: 

My name is Vicky Tice. I was born in Wisconsin, raised in California, and made my way to Virginia via Chicago in my adult years.

I am drawn to the tactile arts as there is something soothing about feeling the work you are doing. Feeling the fiber move through my hands and fingers, and the rhythm of it moving along the warp strings, allows my thoughts to wander away from everyday stress. It is my hope that as you view my weavings you feel a sense of peacefulness.
