Watercolor on Indigo Handmade Watercolor Paper
8 x 10", framed to 15 x 12 x .75"
This piece was inspired by the beautiful shape and rhythm of flying ducks. One of the things I love about birds is that each sighting often feels like a special visit, a literal bright spot in your day!
My body of work explores the connection we have to cherished memories and places. Connecting memories and places has been a recurring theme in my life as I have moved many, many times. Whether it’s the familiar shapes of buildings in one of my architectural abstracts, or a life-size hummingbird drawing, each piece can be a link to a story or memory we love.
I work in many different mediums including acrylic, gouache, watercolor, color pencil and ink. I love each of these mediums for their own qualities as well as their ability to be easily transported from place to place.
