This painting was done from a photo taken by a friend. I love watching these beautiful, delicate little birds as they feed. They are one of nature's wonders.

Artist Statement:

I was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia. I have dabbled in watercolors but always wanted to pursue oil painting so one day I finally decided to enroll in a class at the Crossroads Art Center and am now hooked.I think of myself as a realist painter who enjoys layering the paint with attention to detail. I am drawn to painting wildlife and want people to see my paintings and feel the subject is alive as they are drawn into their eyes. Mostly, I want people to enjoy my paintings.
