Inspired by a department store's cosmetic counter lipstick display...thoughts of trying on the vast range of colors from the sweetest pinks to the most vixen-worthy reds...pursing my lips and blowing air kisses to the mirror and passersby.

Artist Statement:

Creativity is an integral part of who I am and has always been an incredibly fulfilling constant in my life. It urges me to share myself and connect with others. My joy for and love of painting is conveyed through each of my art pieces.

My art ranges from interpretive loose works to those with tighter lines, but the unifying force across all works is the vivid interaction between saturated colors. I draw palette inspiration from nature, fashion, home décor, and my own imagination and emotions.

It's all about color and the powerful emotions and responses it invokes. I’m fascinated with how the addition or subtraction of just one particular color can change the entire mood or direction of a painting. Are blues and greens calming? What if they are paired with a rousing tomatoey red? Does that create discord?  Balance?  Imbalance? I am thrilled that the interpretation of my abstract work is completely subjective to the viewer. What I see in my finished work may be entirely different than what others see, and I feel that that is exactly how it should be.

Painting with acrylics provides me freedom to use unlimited combinations of vibrant palettes and luscious textures.
