Edgar Degas once said, "Art is not what you see, but what you make others see." In this painting, I was inspired by a photo I took while hiking in Utah October. Using lots of texture, bold hues and texture I created my interpretation of this joyful scene.
Artist's Statement:
Edgar Degas once said, "Art is not what you see, but what you make others see." In my acrylic landscape paintings, I strive to express the joy I feel, marveling at the world's beauty. My impressionistic style paintings use bold brushstrokes, lots of texture and vibrant colors. I am inviting the viewer to complete the story while interacting with the range of values and textures, lost and found edges and broken color. My representative style represents and interprets the beauty I am seeing, whether it's on my travels abroad, or here in beautiful Virginia.
