Broaddus Flats
Oil

For Richmond, Broaddus Flats was once a large and magnificent peach orchard to a family-owned farm. From my memory, the brilliant Spring blooms of the orchard could be seen for miles; their fragrant scent wildly intoxicating. Eventually, this once proud orchard was sold off. Neglected through the years, this flowering paradise eventually succumbed to the elements. This painting is my record of happier times.
Artist Statement:
I am an artist who has been formally trained in the best of European art. While my painting style leans toward French Impressionism, my painting process is a culmination of visual experience and internal reflection -- exploring found and unfound boundaries, soft edges and vibrating color harmonies. My work sings with one strong, artistic voice.
