Ginger Edwards was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and has lived in Richmond since the 1960s. She has had a career as a nurse practitioner for more than 30 years, but continues to paint, which is her true passion.

Ginger paints using watercolors and other media; her painting show her love of the effect of light on what we see. Landscapes are her favorite subject matter, but she also enjoys still lifes and portraits. She has exhibited in many local venues and galleries. Her work has been twice exhibited in solo shows at the VCA Arts in the Hospital program, and she has won two prizes in all-media shows.

“I like to show people how to do more than look at something … I like to show them how to see.” Her paintings are described as serene, peaceful, and colorful. In addition to exhibiting at Crossroads Art Center, Ginger schedules private appointments to view her work and accepts commissions.
