Build, RVA

Build, RVA, is a reinvention of the American barn: a common ground for individuals to work, teach, solve problems, and learn together.

Build, RVA, a Community Makerspace & Product Incubator, is a maker's and inventor's playground designed to foster innovation. Members have access to tools, equipment, classes and engaging community to help them design and make one item or numerous items for profit.

The role of the American barn should be remembered accurately; It was the birthplace of invention and a common ground for individuals to work, teach, solve problems, and learn together. Entire economic ecosystems were born from atop its' hay, and the rebirth of America lay within its' doors.

Build is a reinvention of the American barn. A community ideation workshop & product incubator where, for a low monthly membership fee, you will have access to a plethora of tools, equipment, knowledge & resources, and a community of creative individuals like yourself. Learn. Build. Connect. Come spark innovation.

The mission of Build is to provide a place wherein members can gather to better understand and apply science, art, and creativity in their everyday builds. Whether a member is making products to sell from their business in Richmond, or just creating something for the fun of creation, Build wants to help amplify the community’s ability to do so.

We offer a wide range of tools within the Build facility for use in prototyping and manufacture.  These tools range from sewing machines to 3D printers & LASER cutting systems, woodworking & metalworking tools to electronics work stations.

Business professionals such as lawyers and accountants, insurers and more, as well as our scientist-in-residence will be present on site for office hours to interact with and help.

Build has comfortable coworking space and rooms for like minded individuals to come together and connect to further many, as one.
