I’ve been fascinated with pulling figures out of random shapes and refining them, and with how the human mind does this in the first place, whether it's a face in a cloud or the folds of a petal. Surrealism lets me push that perspective further, so here the spiraling layers of the rose lead the eye inward until they resolve into an actual eye, and the flower itself seems to be looking back.
