This painting was built slowly, through repeated adjustment and revision. It draws on the structure of traditional arrangements, but allows instability and change to remain visible. The work is less about the subject itself than the sustained act of looking—staying with uncertainty long enough for the painting to resolve on its own terms.

Artist Statement:

My work explores landscape, floral, and figurative forms through oil and cold wax, focusing on the space between representation and abstraction. Rather than depicting specific places or narratives, the paintings aim to distill an atmosphere or emotional residue—what remains after an experience rather than a record of it.

Process is central to the work. Layers are built, scraped back, and reworked, allowing earlier marks to remain visible and creating a sense of time and accumulation. The paintings are intended to invite sustained looking, offering a quiet, grounded presence that leaves room for the viewer’s own interpretation.
