Gail Geer

“My visions and feelings are expressed through the sensuality of the stone.”

Gail Geer creates animal, figurative, and abstract sculpture from Carrara marble, Virginia soapstone, Colorado alabaster, and African Kisii stone. She also casts and finished miniature pieces and jewelry from lead-free pewter.

Gail teaches sculpting in after-school programs in Roanoke County schools. She also teaches stonecarving workshops at The Taubman Museum of Art in Roanoke and classes at the annual convention of the Virginia Arts Educators Assocaiation. She was awarded a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Virginia Commission for the Arts to support an artist-in-residence program at Allegheny High School.

Gail’s work can be seen at Signature 9 Gallery and Birdy’s Loft in Roanoke, at Artists in Cahoots in Lexington, at Crossroads Art Center in Richmond, and in the Allegheny Highlands Arts and Crafts Center in Clifton Forge, Virginia. She exhibits in Waynesboro at the Shenandoah Valley Art Center and in Williamsburg at Williamsburg Fine Art Gallery.
