Dale Berry
Hummingbird and Petunias
11 x 14", framed to 12.5x15.5"
Watercolor on Arches Paper
$250
My Hummingbird and Petunias painting was inspired by watching these tiny birds play-fight over my petunias. They hover and bomb-dive each other in competition. The Ruby-throated Hummingbird flys nonstop across the Golf of Mexico, migrating more than 500 miles in about 20 hours.
Artist's Statement:
Welcome to my Bio! My name is Dale Berry, and I’m a retired female, living in Mechanicsville, VA. I started my artistic journey once I retired. By taking watercolor classes at Crossroads Art Center, I was gifted with the knowledge I still use today. My art education was further enhanced by joining James River Art League with monthly meetings, field trips, demos, and camaraderie. I was the Publicity Chair for JRAL for two terms. I also joined Tuckahoe Art League and discovered a wonderful watercolorist! He has such an eye for design, color, and placement. During 2020 I joined the RVA Urban Sketchers and found my love for outdoor meetings. More recently I joined the Virginia Plein Air Painters. While I’ve taken several oil and pastel classes, I always return to my beloved watercolors. I hope you enjoy my artwork!
